Topsail Beach
Sigh…the weather in Newfoundland hasn’t been very Spring-like (let alone Summer-like) this year but it cleared up long enough for “Barnes” and I to go to Topsail Beach on Father’s Day for the first time this year while Mommy was getting supper ready (lasagna, caesar salad and toblerone cheesecake…yummy!). I got in some time on the swing then waded into the water (too cold for swimming).

My & Aiden’s Birthday Party
For the second year in a row, Aiden and I shared a birthday party at his house. We rented a doggy bouncy castle from Sky High Amusements (last year we rented the fire engine), took turns swatting a piñata and had a barbecue. Aunt Jen made Aiden’s construction site cake and Mommy and “Barnes”, being far less creative, bought me a princess cake.

Thomas Amusements Fair
For as long as I can remember, I have loved going to the Thomas Amusements Fair. I have already gone twice this year in CBS (once with Mommy and “Barnes” and once with Daddy) and this time I went with Mommy, “Barnes” and Aunt Beth-Ann when it came to St. John’s. I had a great time, as usual, until Mommy and Aunt Beth-Ann decided to take me on the Scrambler ride…not a good scene. To add to my frustration, “Barnes” failed to win me a big stuffed animal at the games booths…sigh.

Middle Cove Beach
I never miss an opportunity to go to a beach but, although the temperature was 20 degrees Celsius, the water at Middle Cove Beach was freezing! I collected a few colored stones while Mommy, “Barnes” and Aunt Beth-Ann got a kick out of my facial expressions when I went in the water.

Sports Day
My school’s annual sports day went ahead today (after being postponed for more than a week due to inclement weather). Mommy, “Barnes” and Aunt Beth-Ann came to cheer me on as my classmates and I participated in a number of activities including playing in a bouncy castle, participating in a variety of races, playing with a giant parachute and a game of tag. We finished off sports day with a healthy meal comprised of hot dogs, chocolate milk and sun chips (my favorite).

Kindergarten Graduation
Big night for my family as I graduated from kindergarten this evening. I received a number of gifts including a doll from my Nan and Pop Walsh and a heart-shaped pendant from my Nan and Pop Coady who came into town to see my graduation ceremony. My ceremony went off without a hitch as I sang and recited a poem with my class. Grade 1 here I come!

Bowring Park
It’s been foggy and rainy for a solid month but today was a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately, Mommy had to work but “Barnes” and I went to Bowring Park as I wanted to feed the ducks and try out the new playground. We got there early (right after a hearty McDonald’s breakfast) and I got to feed some swans which joined the ducks in competing for the bird seed. I then had some fun testing out the new playground equipment.
